From Loudspeakers to High-Performance Bicycle Tubes
Tubolito was founded by Christian Lembacher (Material Science Engineer) and Akos Kertesz (Mechanical Engineer). As passionate mountain bikers, their engineering background focused on high-tech acoustic membranes for mobile communication—materials engineered to be extremely lightweight yet exceptionally tear-resistant.
Realizing that traditional butyl rubber bike tubes had remained virtually unchanged for over 100 years, they applied advanced thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) material science and proprietary seamless production methods. The result was a landmark breakthrough: a bicycle inner tube that is up to 75% lighter, twice as puncture-resistant, and significantly more compact than standard rubber tubes.
